Banks

Barclays Bank

Alphin Brook Rd, Exeter EX2 8RG, UK – 0345 734 5345

I had to pay a cheque into German Shepherd Rescue Elite (we obviously rescue German Shepherd dogs that have fallen on bad times though no fault of their own). I was going to pay it in to the Exeter city branch, which is a bit of a hassle having to go into town, but a quick check on the internet showed there was a branch in Marsh Barton. I found that I can park right outside a couple of steps and I'm in the bank, but even better, I didn't have to mess around with one of those self service machines, I could give the lovely cashier the cheque and the paying in details, job done. Thank you :)

TSB Bank

Building Societies

Yorkshire Building Society

Nationwide

2 Bedford Street, Exeter EX1 1LT, UK – 0800 554 0428

The cashiers are excellent and have been helpful. Overt eye contact with the clipboard lady @_the front. I don't want to use a machine, The hurry agenda

Transferred in 2016 after 40-plus years with the spivs at Barclays and have no regrets except that I stayed with Barclays for so long. This branch of Nationwide is excellent, the staff are courteous and knowledgeable, and the bank seems to be efficient, honest and well-run.

Britannia

228 High St, Exeter EX4 3LR, UK – 01392 422600

Situated within the Coop Bank in the high street, a pleasent welcome to have a one to one advisor, the staff are always very polite and do go the extra mile, great to know you're in good hands.

I had my first visit to Exeter Advanced Dentistry in November. The service I received went above and beyond my expectation. The team were all so friendly and welcoming, and my Dentist Jane was kind, gentle and thorough. I cant recommend them highly enough.

It was lovely to meet Dr. Jane Stack and I am very happy with the treatment that I have received.

Life Dental & Wellbeing

31 Queen St, Exeter EX4 3SR, UK – 01392 278843

Claire is my dentist and I don't quite know what it is about her but she just makes you feel so safe. Her manner is brilliant, she explains everything she is going to do and does just that. The other members of the 'team' that I have had contact with are extremely caring and courteous something that you don't always find these days.

Excellent treatment consistently over several years. Many modern items of equipment available for diagnosis. Even my husband's problems that turned out not to be problems were treated sympathetically.

The Exeter Dental Centre

17 Castle St, Exeter EX4 3PT, UK – 01392 272350

I decided to pay a visit to the practice after reading other positive reviews online, and boy am I happy I did. From start to finish the whole process was a treat. Friendly receptionists welcomed me into the bright and modern waiting area, whilst the dentist I had (Joanna) gave my mouth the most thorough check I had ever had. She was even able to tell me things about the placement of my teeth nobody else ever had done. I would thoroughly recommend.

This is a great dentist one that offers you seven days a week flexibility. Affordable pricing. And emergency treatment when you need it the most. I feel very much looked after by them.. Very pleased and satisfied. Very friendly staff.

Excellent service. Called and got an appointment at 8pm. Hospital bed by 9pm and my appendix was out the next day. Can't knock them.

ECC Recycling Centre

Oakwood House, Exton Rd, Exeter EX2 8NR, UK – 0345 155 1004

Health and safety awareness , polite and knowledgeable, helpfull and more than capable to keep up with demands in industry

Certainly better now than ten years ago, staff are more helpful yet under more pressure in this PC and H&S society, the arrangement of waste types is good, sometimes have to ask where to put something and once I wasn't able to drop my waste (domestic) when the bin men missed my house one week. [ had to find alternative method]

Devon Contract Waste Ltd

Enviro Hub, Marsh Barton Rd, Exeter EX2 8NU, UK – 01392 361300

Give and get free stuff. Here you will find lots of items that people are willing to give away, for FREE! This is instead of taking them to a local landfill site. The aim of this site is to reduce the amount of waste that goes to landfill (20.9 million tonnes of it last year in the UK) and recycling is great news for the environment.
We all know that we need to recycle more - and this is a great way of doing it.

Local Restaurants & Places to Eat around Exeter

Bill's Exeter Restaurant

32-33 Gandy St, Exeter EX4 3LS, UK – 01392 259227

Bills was an amazing restaurant with incredible food (especially the butter not squash stew) which I would highly recommend to everyone. The desserts are well presented and taste beautifully ;The yummy pancakes to be precise. The staff were lovely and was kind enough to give me a free gift bag with apple juice and sweets. I do have to say the music options were nice too! Also the toilet had lovely smelling soap.

Lovely food and gorgeous cocktails . However, they don't handle large group orders well at all. Absolute chaos with missing food and terrible timing. Also, while the downstairs is wheelchair accessible, the upstairs group area was not and we had no warning. Our wheelchair user had to be carried upstairs. The food was generally lovely so I would recommend it to small groups of diners. Also note someone else in my group would not recommend the steak.

Jasmine Thai Restaurant

153 Fore St, Exeter EX4 3AT, UK – 01392 689988

The vegetarian banquet was delicious. The service so attentive and the entire experience completely faultless. Cannot recommend highly enough.

Excellent food. Great variety. Good value and excellent attentive but unobtrusive service. Highly recommended.

CΓ΄te Brasserie

19-21 Cathedral Yard, Exeter EX1 1HB, UK – 01392 433406

24/04/18 We had Lunch in Cote Exeter, the food was excellent and the service we had from the girls serving us was brilliant. We understand this lady was called Julita we hope the spelling is correct. She was very attentive to our needs, even though downstairs was pretty full. It is very hard to find staff who work with a smile on their face when under pressure. Full credit must go to this lady and the team. We will be back

Good french based cookery. Good service. The waitresses were friendly and attentive. Nice surroundings and right on Cathedral green so lovely outlook. Enjoyed a nice bottle of wine and a good lunch. It gets busy so a good idea to book.

The Grosvenor Day Nursery

Christ Church Hall Grosvenor Place, Exeter EX1 2HJ, UK – 01392 279777

My son goes to this nursery the staff are incredible with him. He has a lot of allergies and not once have they let him come into contact with anything that he has an allergy to. The staff are always friendly and go above and beyond to help. Top class would recommend this nursery to anyone of my friends.

A fantastic nursery in a perfect location for those that work in Exeter City Centre. The staff here are extremely helpful, caring and considerate. Right from day one they have been attentive to the needs of my child and the family as a whole. They go above and beyond what they need to do to make sure you and your children are happy. The food is produced on site and is fresh and healthy. And included in the price. Which brings me on to the next point, the price. Compared to other nurseries in the area, this place is extremely well priced. This does not mean you are getting cut price service. Just excellent service at an excellent price. Being in a city centre location, it is even more remarkable that they have a secure outside play area for the children. I’m glad I found this little gem of a nursery.

Ladysmith Junior School

1 Pretoria Rd, Exeter EX1 2PT, UK – 01392 255554

I taught at this school back in the nineties. Great school with good facilities and brilliant children. I shall never forget those years.

I am 9 yrs old with my best friends rn and we all think πŸ’ this is the best school ever! To all the schools we've been to, this is definitely the best! Don't dare think that what thatgamingdude said,he is just an idiot trying to get people to not go to this school. And plus, the teachers would never even think πŸ’ about even saying bad stuff or looking down their noses πŸ‘ƒ at kids. Please don't think πŸ’ that what thatgamingdude said is true, because it isn't! We think that the rating of this place is over the scale and that they are very nice even though theres building being done like another person said they let you on a very big field. If ur wondering why thatgamingdude didn't write much, then it's because he couldn't make up anything bad anymore because he ran out of ideas πŸ’‘. Sorry 😐 this is so long it is because this is only a mini quarter of the good 😊 things that we think πŸ’ about our amazing πŸ˜‰ brilliant school🏀

St Wilfrid's School

A truly excellent small private school! We have two children at St Wilfrid's and they are both thriving in every way!

I am a past pupil, parent of 2 children in Lower School and I work here. I have many happy memories of the school, but what strikes me every day is the family ethos. My children feel safe and secure to maximise their potential.
