Waterstones

252 High St, City Centre, Exeter EX4 3PZ, UK – 01392 423044

There is a great selection of books and staff were extremely helpful and generally lovely. The cafe upstairs is so worth a visit! Best cafe in Exeter in our opinion. We go every week and are never disappointed, very good value cakes/cream tea and amazing sandwiches (Brie, bacon and cranberry particularly recommended).

There is a great little cafe upstairs at this bookstore. It used to have a Costa's but now it is a great independent one. The hot chocolate actually tasted of hot chocolate. Not suitable for people in wheel chairs though.

Waterstones

48-49 High St, Exeter EX4 3DJ, UK – 01392 218392

As with most branches of Waterstones, you'll find an eclectic mix of the books you expected (bestsellers, reference works) and the pleasant surprise. Staff are knowledgeable and friendly, and the layout of the shop is conducive both to browsing and to finding a specific book.

Bright.Cheerful staff. Good cafe and the books of course. Glad Torquay has a decent bookshop again.
