Typical Waterstones, lots of books. We often spend far too long wandering around book shops and Waterstones is one of the best. This one was set apart by the extra friendly and helpful staff

With entrances facing the High Street and Cathedral Green, this is a great bookshop to wander into and peruse the shelves at leisure. It's spread across three floors with plenty of space dedicated to each genre. Since the Waterstones chain came under new management, they have provided a far more personal bookshop experience, introducing personal recommendations from staff and comprehensive stock (not just bestsellers). I used to work at an independent bookshop and was very impressed by the Exeter store.
